Lindsay is a mother of two (👧🏼7 👦🏼5) who lives in Toronto, Ontario Canada. She is a grade 3 teacher who loves bringing healthy lunchbox ideas into her classroom. As a teacher she can see how much healthy eating affects children throughout the day. That’s why she wants to make sure her children are fueled with the best foods possible to help their growing minds and bodies.
How is Teuko useful to you ?
I love that Teuko has lots of great tips!
I track my lunches on Teuko so I have a record of what I’ve made. I find that the weekly schedule is helpful so I can see what I’ve sent for the whole week. This helps when trying to plan out the following week, – don’t repeat too much, or repeat something that was a hit! The Food Stats feature is amazing because it gives me feedback on how balanced my meals are throughout the week.
The Food Tags always help me when looking at other people’s lunches: it’s great to get new ideas from others!

What is your best lunchbox hack?
Choosing foods that the kids love is always a great place to start! My kids are huge cucumber lovers, so you will see them in almost every one of my lunches. I also like to change up the main course and keep it creative when I have the time and energy.

“Just stacking foods on a skewer or using a shape cutter can keep the same foods interesting.”

If lunch packing is not your favorite activity, find something about it that you can enjoy. I like to play music while I “work” on the lunches and I like the creative process of putting the foods into a beautiful bento box. But sometimes I don’t have the time or the energy: these nights I resort to whatever is easy! This could be using pre-cut vegetables from the previous day (cut up extras to help you for the rest of the week), or leftovers (always a great option for busy nights!). When I know ahead of time that I won’t be home to make lunch at a decent hour, I will pack for 2 days worth of lunches at once.
