Our Teuko Lunchbox Community amazes us with fun and creative lunchbox ideas for kids, and when St Patrick’s Day is approaching, it’s a fantastic feast of delicious creativity! These St. Patrick’s Day lunch box ideas are easy to make and sure to bring a smile to your child’s face. You can also modify them to suit your child’s preferences and dietary restrictions. Enjoy!
1. Lucky Shamrock-Shaped Sandwich
Use a cookie cutter to make a shamrock-shaped sandwich with your child’s favorite filling. It can be a shamrock-shaped cookie cutter for a single cutout, but it can be a heart-shaped cookie cutter as well! You’d just need to cut out four hearts and assemble them as a shamrock in your kids’ lunchbox!
Kidcatveggiefood packed two salami cheddar shamrock-shaped sandwiches, topped with tiny heart-shaped pieces of green bell peppers to highlight the leaves of the shamrocks. Brotboxenideen cut out four hearts to make a lucky shamrock in her kid’s lunchbox. Kidscantwaitforlunch made one huge shamrock-shaped ham sandwich. Back_seat_meals cut out only the top of a classic sandwich with a shamrock-shaped food cutter and placed salad leaves underneath the cutout part for getting a green shamrock!
2. Green Fruit Skewers
Like Artinlunchbox did for her kid’s lunchbox, thread green grapes and honeydew melon chunks or cucumbers onto skewers for a festive and healthy snack.
3. Refreshing Rainbow Fruit Salad
This idea comes from our Teuko Friends thatlunchboxmom, lunchwiththeseasons, and Jessica. Rainbow fruit salad: Cut up a variety of colorful fruits (such as strawberries, oranges, pineapple, kiwi, blueberries, and grapes) and mix together to make a rainbow fruit salad.
4. Delicious Green Smoothie
Use your favorite green smoothie recipe, or just blend together spinach, banana, pineapple, and a splash of coconut water to make a green smoothie that is both healthy and festive for St Patrick’s Day! Like Lunchformytribe, use a transparent water bottle: the result is even more enjoyable!
5. Crunchy Pot of Gold Snack Mix
Our Teuko Friend MarshmallowMama amazed us with this wonderful lunchbox idea. It looks sophisticated but when you have a closer look, it’s actually easy to make it! She used sliced brown bread to make the pot, and below, she placed golden buttery popcorn! You can also use cheese crackers, pretzels, and cereal, to make a pot of gold snack mix.
6. Veggie-Loaded Green Pasta
Use the pasta your kid likes (shell pasta, rotini pasta, linguini pasta, for instance, as suggested by our Teuko Freidns thatlunchboxmom, MarshmallowMama, and Jessica), add some green peas, with or without pesto, and done! You add, like that, so easily, veggie-loaded green pasta and that’s perfect for a St Patrick’s Day lunchbox!
7. Rainbow Veggie Sticks
Like Kristinnquail did for her St Patrick’s Day lunchbox, cut up a variety of colorful vegetables (such as carrots, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes) and pack them in a container with a side of ranch dressing or hummus.
8. St. Patrick’s Day Quesadillas
This food idea is a festive and delicious way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at lunchtime! As suggested by feedingthepolands and thatlunchboxmom, choose green spinach tortillas for the best effect. Then you can cut out quesadillas as a leprechaun hat or as a shamrock, fill them with whatever your kid likes (just cheese, or with chicken or beans, maybe you add some spinach leaves or pesto for making them even greener inside?) And enjoy!
9. Green Yogurt
Like Pausenbrotjunkie and Funfoodfran, you can add St Patrick’s Day green sprinkles on top of yogurt for a festive result in the lunchbox. Maybe Funfoodfran was inspired by the city of Chicago turning its river green each year for St Patrick’s day, because she even made the yogurt totally green – use food coloring or a tiny bit of matcha green tea powder, or a few drops of chlorophyll. You can also make a green yogurt parfait by layering Greek yogurt, kiwi, and granola in a snack container.
10. Simply Green Foods in the Lunch Box
Simple is best! So, by just filling the lunch box with green foods, you can celebrate St Patrick’s Day the easy, fast, and healthy way! Alexandra included romaine salad, green beans, and kiwi in her kids’ lunchbox. Lindsay made a green waffle and also included green bell pepper slices, green grapes, kiwi, and pear slices. Jessica packed creamy spinach purée and kiwi.
