That morning, one of our Teuko Kids asked “What would be the scariest costume I could have this year?”
2020 was a year like no other. Covid-19 had disrupted our lives, especially for our kids who missed their friends when playgrounds were closed (yep, that was our reality in San Francisco!), playdates were not recommended, and lessons were followed remotely. Even Halloween was about to be different that year.
“What do you think? Would you be a superhero this year? Batman? Superman?”
– Nah… Oh! I know!!!
– Ok, tell me!
– I want to be a fruit full of vitamins! That will scare Covid-19!”
This is how we were on the search for a food costume for that Halloween in 2020! Here is the list of 6 foodie costumes that we found… healthy enough to be actually, in some way, very scary! And still super trendy!
1. Apple Costume

“Eat an apple a day keeps the doctor away”! No wonder this costume is popular!

2. Banana Costume

A banana gives you energy – a respectable source of vitamin C, manganese, potassium… A great fruit! But do you know why this is THE costume that our Teuko Kid wants? Our 7-year-old said that he will add sunglasses and a red bow tie… for becoming Fortnite’s Agent Peely! 🙂

3. Potato Costume

Potatoes have the nutrients, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals that can help ward off disease and benefit human health. For little ones, being Toy Story’s Mr. or Mrs. Potato Head is super cute! For older kids, the potato costume – or T-shirts (XS size for the kids) are pretty cool!
